GAMA BY LEE’ is a neighbourhood food stand in Halifax Brewery Farmer’s Market, serving casual Korean food as a simple meal.

What is GAMA?

‘Gama’ is a kitchen. Gama-sot, or simply Gama, is a big, heavy pot or oven used for Korean cooking, but is mainly used in reference to a traditional Korean kitchen itself. Gama is a place where delicious magic happens and you can fall in love with the whole process of cooking!

Lee's happy face thinking about rice

Hi, I'm Lee.

I’m from South Korea and moved to Halifax three years ago.

Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to have chances to travel and taste amazing food from around the world. Now It’s time to share my favourite food with others.

Our menu is influenced by Chinese, Japanese and family-style Korean cuisine, bridging the gap between fast and fine-dining with affordable prices and healthy ingredients.

🔥 Mandu (Korean-style dumplings) 🔥

‘Mandu’ is typically filled with a mixture of ingredients, such as ground pork, vegetables, kimchi tofu and many others.

With these many variations of ingredients, there are almost as many ways to cook Mandu, such as steaming, frying, or boiling.

At Gama, we offer two types of Korean dumplings;

Gogi Mandu and Gim Mandu(vegan).

Freshly made dumpling wrappers

Use of local vegetables and Korean sauces

Perfect for steaming, boiling or frying

Gogi Mandu (Korean Pork Dumpling)

Versatile and delicious, Gogi Mandu is substantial enough for a main dish but are also good as a snack or appetizer, or a mess-free lunch.

ground pork, scallion, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, oyster sauce, flour, oil

Gim Mandu (Veggie Seaweed Dumplings)

These Gim mandu are filled with dried seaweeds, veggies, and homemade galbi sauce. With aromatic herbs and savoury seasonings, they are delicious pockets of softness and rich flavours.

dried seaweed(nori), carrot, scallion, garlic, TVP, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, flour , green pepper, spinach, oil

🍲 Dup Bap (Korean / Japanese -style rice bowl)

‘Dupbap’ is a Korean phrase meaning ‘on rice.’ It is a catch-all term for stir-fried or braised food in sauce served over rice. To construct a ‘Dupbap’, you need only two things: a base and a main.

But why stop there? We add more sauce and toppings to create a rich taste and flavour.
